*** BUYER BEWARE *** continue

I hired Eran Amsalem at 5 Star Construction, 5starconstructionpro.com, from ServiceMagic.com (they claimed to have done all the background check on Eran Amsalem for me) to do major renovation on my house. His website looks good http://5starconstructionpro.com/, he has a license that checked out CSLB and claimed to have professional teams that are licensed to come in to perform the major renovation.

He claimed to have a team but he only brought on Labor Ready people and he told me his two subs are licensed which now he claiming are his employees. I believe the only licensed person is the plumper. Eran had the Labor Ready guys performed electrical/window installation/radiant heat installation/re-staining cabinets/painting/carpentry... Eran is gone from work site for 4 to 6 hours every day - claiming to go shopping at Home Depot for supplies. He refuses to give me any and all documentation of waiver/releases, plan/drawing... Eran missed all milestones on the contract. The City of SD Dev. Serv. Dept gave him 25+ violations to correct on my property. His employee/subs demand money from me every Friday since he won’t pay them and I have to help mitigate. They had screaming fights over money in front of my house as neighbors watched. His explanation to me was not to worry about liens because they are not licensed and they are his employees...

Eran called me & stated he made mistakes and that he’ll rectify/correct his shoddy workmanship, will obtain all necessary permits, he will fix all work with licensed contractors to my satisfaction. He again promised to provide me with all unconditional & conditional waiver/releases plan/drawings for the project. Then two days later Eran Amsalem called me to tell me he is releasing me of the contract and for me to file a complaint if I want because CSLB will do nothing. Please see pictures of Eran’s work.

I tried to complain with Service Magic, they told me to fax them doc/contract and then no one return my calls after I sent them the contract / violation docs as they've requested. They will not post the bad review on 5 Star Construction and pictures of his work as they claim to on theirs website because it would make them look bad for referring him to me...

How does Service Magic stay in business for doing this to people?????
